about
Melbourne-based alternative rock band All Regards have unleashed their brand new single, ‘Wonder’, a high energy track with a chorus that is guaranteed to be an earworm to every type of listener.
Produced by Darcy Handley (Terra, Future Static) and mastered by Christopher Vernon (Belle Haven, Better Half), ‘Wonder’ was inspired from the stresses of life that bassist Mark Fuhrmann was facing. After confiding in vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Allen, they then began to piece together lyric ideas and fleshed out the initial thoughts and feelings into the song we hear today. Inspired by bands like Silverchair blink-182 & Rise Against ‘Wonder’ takes the listener on a journey of asking life’s big questions.
“The song lyrically follows the last couple years of struggles mentally, by internally asking life’s big questions, ‘Why am I here?, ‘What’s my purpose?’ ‘Do those closest to me still care about me?” Vocalist Allen outlines, “Within this last year, I have unfortunately had someone close to me lose their battle with mental health which has put everything within my life into perspective. From that experience I learned that life can be quite tiring and draining but I shouldn’t let my mental health get in the way of living my life to its absolute fullest and that to me is the overriding message of the song.”
The track is accompanied by a music video directed by John Stokes (Drastic Park, Paperweight) which takes literal inspiration from the lyrics of the song, emulating the feeling of not wanting to get up and deal with life while at the same time wondering if people still even want you around.
‘Wonder’ is sure to get stuck in your head as the chorus is catchy, singable, and memorable to everyone that listens.
lyrics
Why am I so content with just existing and then on bad days, why am I so sick of living?
Just want to crawl inside my mind and never leave this place
Fatigue it takes its course, I’m so tired of running this human race
Do you, do you still want me around?
Do you still want me in this town
Let me pick myself up off the ground
I wonder, I wonder
Can’t you see sometimes it just gets all too real?
The best that I can do is force myself to feel
The pain of losing someone else keeps fucking with my mental health
Fatigue might take its course but I’m not done running this human race
